“Self-love is not only necessary and good, it is a prerequisite for loving others.”
— Rollo May
“Because she competes with no one, no one can compete with her.”
— Lao Tzu, Verse 66 (via fyp-philosophy)
you have to make room for someone to come into your life and love you. you can’t invite someone into your life when you haven’t made space in your heart for them and expect it to be healthy. it’s not fair to invite them into that space when someone else or something else occupies that space. prepare your heart to open up and invite love in. do the work. invest in healing your heart and creating a space for love to reside
“stop giving your time to things you don’t want to manifest in your life”
some real shit I needed to hear today
“Awakening is not changing who you are, but discarding who you are not.”

Deepak Chopra
“Relax wild one. It’s not your job to be everything everyone needs, and you don’t have to be impressive to be loved. Stop trying so hard. Just show up … and be real with the world. That is enough.”
— Brooke Hampton (via purplebuddhaquotes)
“I’m sensitive. I love deeply. I think deeply about life. I’m honest, loyal and true. I appreciate the simple things. I will not change or harden to this world. It is this sensitivity, perception, sincerity, awareness, affection and gentle grace that makes me who I am.”

i’m learning that you can prevent heartbreak by letting go of expectations. having preconceived notions of how people should be, how things should turn out, and when things should happen interferes with the flow of things.
i’m learning that it’s better to go into every situation with the idea that you will accept things the way they are. if the situation is not in alignment with what you truly want, then you move on. but what breaks you is when you apply force to the experience.accept and let be.
“Spread love everywhere you go. Let no one ever come to you without leaving happier.”
– Mother Teresa
